SEIU started more than a hundred years ago in Chicago when a group of janitors, window washers and doormen came together to fight for better standards in residential buildings. Today, the residential division is made up of over 5,000 chief engineers, maintenance workers, janitors and doorstaff throughout Chicago. These workers keep buildings clean and safe for over 100,000 families.
