Labor Champion Alderman Megan Green Elected President of the St. Louis Board of Alderman

ST. LOUIS, MO - Today, working people throughout St. Louis made their voices heard at the ballot box by electing Alderman Megan Green as the next President of the Board of Alderman - the first woman to ever hold this elected seat in St. Louis. SEIU Local 1 President Genie Kastrup releases the following statement:

“What a historic day for St. Louis as they elect their first woman President of the Board of Alderman! Alderman Green has been an unrelenting champion for working families fighting to raise the minimum wage and defend the right for workers to organize on the job,” said SEIU Local 1 President Genie Kastrup. “Local 1 members continued to show up to doorknock and phonebank for Megan because, like me, they are confident that she will be a forward-thinking leader who will deliver results for working people throughout St. Louis.”
