Illinois’ Immense Voter Support This Midterm Election Secures Key Victories for Governor, Supreme Court, Secretary of State and Amendment 1

ILLINOIS - Today, Illinois’ working people made their voices heard at the ballots as they secured a second term for Governor JB. Pritzker and Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton, elected Judges Mary Kay O’Brien and Elizabeth Rochford to the Illinois Supreme Court, Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias, and approved Amendment 1. SEIU Local 1 President Genie Kastrup releases the following statement:

“With so much on the line, this is a celebratory day for workers across Illinois and it’s credited to the thousands of working people who showed up to the ballot box to make their voice heard,” said SEIU Local 1 President Genie Kastrup. “Illinois workers not only elected strong labor champions who will continue to move our state forward, but they took back their power and passed the Workers’ Rights Amendment to ensure every worker has a voice on the job!
