 Hi Friend,

One year ago this week, SEIU Local 1 janitors, joined by more than 100 community and elected allies, came together in downtown St. Louis to demand a strong new contract with higher wages and better benefits.

I was there, and I marched because janitors and housekeepers need more to support our families. All of us came together - across racial lines and different backgrounds - to demand a better future for ourselves and our communities.

Treasurer Tishaura Jones marched with us and spoke out in support of a $15 living wage for janitors in a good new contract. She said we need a St. Louis that works for all working families - no matter our zip code, where we work or the color of our skin, and that by putting money into the pockets of working families, our employers would make our city a better place.

Tishaura Jones had our back, and I have hers. That’s why I’m saying yes to Tishaura Jones for mayor on March 2. While special interests try to divide us along racial lines for their own profit, Tishaura Jones will bring our city together, working to raise wages for working families and reimagining public safety so our neighborhoods get the resources they need to be safe and thrive.

We can win the change our communities need by uniting at the ballot box - we can win a better city for our families by saying YES to Tishaura Jones for mayor on Tuesday, March 2. If you qualify for an absentee ballot, click here to follow a step-by-step guide on how to apply online.
