Submitting a Michigan Absent Voter Ballot

Going downtown for work soon? Drop your absent voter ballot off at the Detroit City Clerk’s office inside of the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center located at 2 Woodward Avenue Suite 200 Detroit, MI 48226.

We urge you to return your completed ballot ASAP. The deadline to mail your ballot in to be received on time is October 20, 2020. 


Here are tips on how to successfully submit your absent voter ballot. The signature on your envelope must match your official signature with the State of Michigan to be considered valid. No one else may sign for you! Use only blue or black ink

All registered voters can track their ballot by looking up their information in the voter information section of the MI SOS website.

Requests for an absent voter ballot must be submitted no later than 5pm on October 30, 2020. Visit bit.ly/ABVMI to find out how to apply for your absent voter ballot online.
