Bettina joined a member brigade and helped win a strong contract for downtown security officers. She is using the skills she learned to pull together officers to win an even better contract in 2010.
Member organizers gain skills to improve our workplaces and build our strength A union is only as strong as its members, and Local 1 members are gaining skills that will make a real difference in the lives of co-workers and an investment in the future of our children.
Through the Member Brigade Program, union members take part in leadership training to support workers making improvements in their workplaces and in society. Not only are members protecting the gains we’ve already made, but they are ensuring we have the power in numbers we need to win more improvements in the future.
