Sign Up for A Transit Card for Senior Citizens to Ride RTA and CTA for Free

Local 1 members and any family members aged 65 and older can apply for a seniors reduced fare card to ride the CTA, Pace or Metra for free.

To apply go to www.illinois.gov/transit. You can also visit a registration center by calling 836-7000 from any area code or go to www.rtachicago.com to locate the nearest registration site.  Registration centers require a government issued picture identification that verifies your age.  Some registration centers take a photo but may charge a fee. The RTA’s Customer Service Center does not charge for this service.  The senior reduced fare card takes 3 – 4 weeks to process and will be mailed.
