Savings Programs and Consumer Resources
Seniors Ride Free Program (Chicagoland Area) Sign up for a transit card for senior citizens to ride the RTA and CTA for free. Local 1 members and any family members aged 65 and older can apply for a senior citizens' reduced fare card to ride the CTA, Pace or Metra for free.
You can also visit a registration center by calling 836-7000 from any Illinois area code or go to www.rtachicago.com to locate the nearest registration site. Registration centers require a government issued picture identification that verifies your age. Some registration centers will take a photo, but may charge a fee. The RTA’s Customer Service Center does not charge for this service. The senior reduced fare card takes 3 – 4 weeks to process and will be mailed.
