While their 2006 contract was a step in the right direction, Houston janitors still lag behind the general prosperity of this great city. Through the economic downturn, Houston has weathered the storm better than other large US cities.
Houston business leaders, once again, have the opportunity to move the city forward as the agreement between janitors and their employers expires in November.
By helping to lift the living standards of our city’s most vulnerable members and by decreasing the disparity between the haves and have-nots, Houston’s economic leaders can contribute to our city’s future prosperity and growth.
