ABC 7 News: Group sets up mini-golf at protest at Thompson Center

August 15, 2011 (CHICAGO) (WLS) — The group Stand Up Chicago invited people to pay miniature golf at the Thompson Center Monday as a way of protesting what they see as ”corporate welfare.”

Organizers say while rich executives are playing golf at country clubs, many people are dealing with high unemployment, layoffs and foreclosures. The group says big businesses play by different rules. Stand Up Chicago is concerned about tax breaks, large bonuses and hefty incentives that they say many businesses and executives receive.
